This article explains how to troubleshoot lighting issues on Aventon e-bikes.
Use this article if your bike:
front light is not working
rear light is not working
both lights are not working
turn signals are not working

Please prepare the following:

Troubleshooting Steps
Step 1 – Confirm the Bike Is Powered On

Continue monitoring the bike.

Step 2 – Turn the Lights On
Press the light button or the “+” button, depending on your Aventon model.
For some models:
press and hold the “+” button
or press the dedicated light button
If your bike has turn signals:
press the left or right turn signal button
the selected side should flash
after approximately 10 seconds, the turn signal may automatically cancel
Retest all lighting functions.
If yes
If the lights now work normally, the issue may have been caused by incorrect activation.

Step 3 – Check for Visible Damage

Inspect accessible light connections and harness plugs.

If the lights work normally after reconnecting the wiring, the issue was likely caused by a loose or contaminated connection.

Step 6 – If Only One Light Is Not Working
If only one light is affected:

Continue to Step 7.
If the issue clears
The issue may have been caused by a loose harness connection.
If the issue remains

Step 7 – If Multiple Lights Are Not Working
If multiple lighting functions fail at the same time, the issue may involve:
the controller
the shared harness connection
the display control pad
Retest the light controls and verify all accessible connectors are secure.
If yes
If the lights return to normal operation, continue monitoring the bike.
If no

Step 8 – Check the Display Control Pad
Inspect the display control pad buttons for:
physical damage
sticking buttons
