This article explains how to request remote unpairing for an Aventon bike that is already paired to another unknown or unavailable device.
Use this article if your bike:
is already paired to another device
cannot be paired to your phone
shows that the bike is linked to another account
needs to be remotely unpaired before pairing again
If you are unsure about any step, contact support before continuing.
Before You Start
Please prepare:
order number or proof of purchase
Aventon model
photo of the bike frame serial number QR code, or the written serial number
photo of the pairing QR code on the bike display
confirmation of whether the bike powers on
confirmation of whether the display turns on
confirmation of whether the pairing QR code is accessible
confirmation of whether the bike has a password set
Safety Warnings
Do not open sealed electrical components.
Do not work on wiring while the bike is powered on or charging.
Stop and contact support if you are unsure.
What This Issue Means
The bike is currently paired to another device or account.
The bike must be remotely unpaired before it can be paired to a new device.
Possible Causes
Possible causes include:
the bike is paired to another phone
the original paired device is unavailable
the bike is linked to an unknown account
the pairing QR code is not accessible because a password is set
Troubleshooting Steps
Step 1 – Collect the Bike Serial Number
Take a clear photo of the serial number QR code on the bike frame.
If you cannot take a photo, write down the full serial number.
If yes
Continue to Step 2.
If no
Please contact support for help locating the serial number.
Step 2 – Collect the Pairing QR Code
Power on the bike and open the pairing QR code on the display.
Take a clear photo of the pairing QR code.
If yes
Continue to Step 3.
If no
Continue to Step 4.
Step 3 – Contact Support
Contact our support team and provide:
the bike pairing QR code
the bike serial number or serial number QR code
your order number or proof of purchase
If yes
Support will review the information and submit the remote unpairing request.
If no
Please gather the required photos before contacting support.
Step 4 – If the Pairing QR Code Is Not Accessible
If the bike has a password and the pairing QR code cannot be accessed, an Aventon dealer will need to assist with generating a new pairing QR code using the Aventon SynerGE app.
If yes
Once the new pairing QR code is generated, return to Step 2.
If no
Please contact support so we can review the next step.
Step 5 – Reattempt Pairing
Once the bike has been remotely unpaired, support will contact the shop or bike owner.
You can then try pairing the bike again.
If the issue clears
The bike was successfully unpaired and can now be paired to your device.
If the issue remains
Please contact support with updated screenshots or photos.
