What This Warning Means

The W05 High Temperature Charging Protection warning means the battery temperature or charging environment is too hot for safe charging.

The bike may temporarily stop charging to help protect the battery and charging system.

Possible Causes

Possible causes include:

  • Ambient temperature is too high
  • Battery is damaged
  • Charger is damaged

Troubleshooting Steps

Step 1 – Move the Battery to a Cooler Environment

Stop charging the bike before continuing.

Place the battery in an environment between:

  • 32°F to 104°F
  • 0°C to 40°C

Leave the battery in this environment for 2 hours.

After 2 hours:

  • Reconnect the charger
  • Attempt to charge the battery again
  • Check whether the W05 warning remains

If yes – The W05 warning still appears

Continue to Step 2.

If no – The warning clears

The issue was likely caused by charging the battery in a high temperature environment.

Continue charging the battery within the recommended temperature range.

If the issue clears

Monitor the battery during future charging.

If the issue remains

Continue to Step 2.

Step 2 – Check Whether the Warning Persists

After cooling the battery and reconnecting the charger, check whether:

  • The battery charges normally
  • The charger light changes correctly
  • The W05 warning returns

If yes – The W05 warning still appears

The issue may involve the battery or charging system.

Please contact our support team with the photos/videos listed below so we can review the next step.

If no – The warning no longer appears

The issue was likely caused by temporary high temperature charging conditions.

Continue monitoring the bike during charging.

Step 3 – Inspect the Battery for Visible Damage

Inspect the battery for:

  • Swelling
  • Cracks
  • Water exposure
  • Burning smell
  • Overheating
  • Physical damage

If yes – Visible damage is found

Stop using the battery immediately.

Do not continue charging or riding the bike.

Please contact our support team with photos/videos of the battery and charger.

If no – No visible damage is found

Reconnect the charger and check whether the battery charges normally.

If the issue remains

The battery system may require further inspection.

Please contact support.

Step 4 – Inspect the Charger for Visible Damage

Inspect the charger for:

  • Overheating
  • Burning smell
  • Damaged cables
  • Loose connectors
  • Cracks or physical damage

If yes – Visible damage is found

Stop using the charger immediately.

Please contact our support team with photos/videos of the charger and charging cable.

If no – No visible damage is found

Reconnect the charger and check whether the W05 warning returns.

If the issue remains

The charging system may require further inspection.

Please contact support.

Step 5 – Check Charging Conditions

Check whether the issue happened:

  • During hot weather
  • After storing the bike in a hot environment
  • During charging in direct sunlight
  • During charging in poorly ventilated areas

If yes

Allow the battery and charger to cool before charging.

Charge the bike in a cooler, ventilated environment within the recommended temperature range.

If no

The battery or charger system may require further inspection.

Please contact support.

If the issue remains

Please contact support.
