Aventon Aventure & Aventure.2 – Battery and Charger TroubleshootingUpdated 15 hours ago

This article explains how to troubleshoot battery and charger issues on Aventon Aventure and Aventure.2 e-bikes.

Use this article if your bike:

  • does not power on

  • has charging issues

  • has battery power issues

  • has intermittent battery connection issues

  • does not respond when pressing the battery power button

Stop and contact support if anything looks unsafe or if you are unsure how to complete a step.

Before You Start

Prepare:

  • order number

  • Aventon model

  • photo/video of the issue

  • photo/video of the battery and charger

  • when the issue first appeared

  • confirmation of whether the bike powers on

  • confirmation of whether the battery charges

  • confirmation of whether the display turns on

  • confirmation of whether the issue happened after charging, riding, transport, storage, water exposure, crash, impact, modification, or third-party repair

  • photos of visible damage, if any

Safety warnings:

  • Do not continue riding if the bike has visible damage, overheating, smoke, burning smell, water exposure, or electrical issues.

  • Do not open the battery or charger.

  • Do not work on wiring while the bike is powered on or charging.

  • Stop and contact support if you are unsure.

What This Issue Means

Battery or charger issues may prevent the bike from powering on or charging correctly.

This article helps identify whether the issue may relate to:

  • the battery power button

Possible Causes

  • battery not switched on

  • battery not seated correctly

Troubleshooting Steps

Step 1 – Check Whether the Battery Is Turned On

Press the battery power button and check whether the battery indicator lights turn on.

If yes

Continue to Step 2.

If no

Continue to Step 1A.


Step 1A – Remove and Reinstall the Battery

Remove the battery from the bike and reinstall it carefully.

Make sure the battery is aligned correctly and fully seated before locking it back into place.

Press the battery power button again.

If the battery turns on

The battery may not have been seated correctly. Monitor the bike during normal use.

If the battery does not turn on

Continue to Step 2.


Step 2 – Check the Battery Power Button

Press the battery power button directly on the battery.

Check whether the button feels normal and whether the battery lights respond.

If yes

Continue to Step 3.

If no

Please contact our support team with the photos/videos listed below so we can review the next step.


Step 3 – Check the Battery Terminals

Remove the battery and inspect the visible battery terminals on both the battery and the bike.

Look for:

  • dirt or debris

  • bent pins

  • damaged terminals

  • corrosion

  • visible damage

Do not force or straighten connectors.

If the terminals look clean and undamaged

Continue to Step 4.

If the terminals are damaged, bent, loose, or corroded

If the issue clears

The battery connection may not have been seated correctly. Monitor the bike during normal use.

If the issue remains

Continue to Step 4.


Step 4 – Check the Charger and Charging Lights

Connect the charger to the battery and check the charger indicator light.

If the charger light changes normally during charging

Allow the battery to charge fully, then test the bike again.

If the charger light does not behave normally

If the issue clears

The battery may have required charging before normal operation.

If the issue remains

Continue to Step 5.


Step 5 – Test the Bike Again

After charging, reinstall the battery and power the bike on.

Check:

  • whether the display powers on

  • whether the bike responds normally

If yes

The issue may have been related to battery seating or charging. Monitor the bike during normal use.

If no

Please contact our support team with the photos/videos listed below so we can review the next step.

When To Contact Support

Contact support if:

  • the battery does not turn on

  • the bike does not power on

  • the charger light does not behave normally

  • the battery will not charge

  • the display does not turn on

  • there is visible damage to the battery, charger, terminals, or connectors

  • there are bent or damaged pins

  • the bike has been exposed to water, crash, impact, transport damage, modification, or third-party repair

  • you are unsure how to safely complete a step

  • photo of the battery
