This article explains how to troubleshoot an Aventon Aventure or Aventure.2 battery that will not power off normally.

Do not open sealed electrical components.
Do not work on wiring while the bike is powered on or charging.

What This Issue Means
This issue occurs when the battery does not switch off after holding the battery power button.
In some cases, the battery cover may interfere with the battery button operation.

Troubleshooting Steps
Step 1 – Check Whether the Battery Cover Is Interfering With the Button
Remove the battery from the bike using the key.
Carefully remove the battery cover and test the actual battery button underneath.
Press and hold the battery power button for 3–4 seconds.
If the battery powers off
The battery cover may have been interfering with the battery button.
Reinstall the cover carefully and test the battery again.
If no

If the issue clears
The battery cover may not have been aligned correctly. Monitor the bike during normal use.
If the issue remains

Step 2 – Perform the Battery Power-Off Procedure
Follow these steps exactly:
Turn the bike on.
Put the bike into a pedal assist mode above level 1 or “Off”.
Hold a brake lever.
Hold down the throttle while slightly releasing the brake lever.
Allow the bike to move forward slightly.
Release the brake and throttle.
Press and hold the power button on the handlebar control pad to turn the bike off.
Press and hold the battery power button for 3–4 seconds.
If the battery powers off
The battery power state may have reset successfully.
Monitor the bike during normal use.
