What This Issue Means
This issue means the battery cannot be removed normally because:
the electronic battery lock is not functioning correctly, or
the battery does not have enough power to operate the lock mechanism
Possible Causes
Possible causes include:
faulty e-lock
fully discharged battery
lock assembly alignment issue
battery mounting bolt tension preventing release
Troubleshooting Steps
Step 1 – Locate the Battery Mounting Bolts
Locate:
the two upper mounting bolts for the lock assembly
the two lower terminal mounting bolts
These bolts secure the battery and terminal assembly to the frame.
If yes
If you can access the bolts safely:
continue to Step 2
If no
If the bolts are obstructed or damaged:
please contact our support team with photos of the battery area
If the issue clears
Continue monitoring the battery fitment after reinstalling.
If the issue remains
Continue to Step 2.
Step 2 – Loosen the Terminal Mounting Bolts
Using a 3mm hex wrench:
remove the two lower terminal mounting bolts
carefully slide the battery downward
loosen the battery lock mounting bolts if needed
In some cases, loosening the lock assembly bolts may provide enough movement to release the battery.
If yes
If the battery begins to move downward:
continue to Step 3
If no
If the battery does not move:
do not force the battery
please contact support with photos of the battery area and mounting bolts
If the issue clears
The battery may have been held in place by mounting bolt tension or alignment.
Continue monitoring battery installation and removal.
If the issue remains
Continue to Step 3.
Step 3 – Release the Battery From the Bike
Once loosened, the battery should lift slightly.
Press the battery handle release and carefully disconnect the battery from the bike.
If yes
If the battery disconnects successfully:
continue to Step 4
If no
If the battery still cannot be removed:
stop and contact support before continuing
If the issue clears
The battery may have been stuck due to lock alignment or mounting tension.
If the issue remains
Continue to Step 4.
Step 4 – Disconnect the Terminal
Before fully removing the battery:
carefully disconnect the terminal from the base of the battery
The terminal may still be connected to the battery when partially removed.
If yes
If the terminal disconnects safely:
continue to Step 5
If no
If the connector appears damaged or stuck:
do not force the connector
contact support with photos of the connector area
If the issue clears
Continue to Step 5.
If the issue remains
Contact support.
Step 5 – Remove the Battery
Carefully remove the battery completely from the frame.
Inspect for:
visible damage
debris
signs of impact
signs of water exposure
If yes
If no visible damage is present:
continue to Step 6
If no
If visible damage is found:
stop using the bike
contact support with photos of the damage
If the issue clears
Continue to Step 6.
If the issue remains
Contact support.
Step 6 – Reinstall the Terminal
Reinstall the terminal carefully into the frame.
Make sure the terminal sits correctly before tightening bolts.
If yes
If the terminal aligns correctly:
continue to Step 7
If no
If alignment appears incorrect:
contact support before continuing
If the issue clears
Continue to Step 7.
If the issue remains
Contact support.
Step 7 – Tighten the Mounting Bolts
Tighten:
the terminal bolts
the lock assembly bolts
Torque the bolts to:
3–5Nm
If yes
If the battery assembly tightens correctly:
continue to Step 8
If no
If the assembly does not align correctly:
stop and contact support
If the issue clears
Continue to Step 8.
If the issue remains
Contact support.
Step 8 – Test Battery Installation and Removal
Reinstall the battery and test the eject mechanism.
Check whether:
the battery installs smoothly
the battery ejects correctly
the handle release operates normally
If battery installation or removal is difficult:
slightly loosen the mounting bolts
install the battery
torque the mounting bolts while the battery is installed to help align the terminal and lock assembly correctly
If yes
If the battery now installs and ejects correctly:
continue monitoring the bike
If no
If the battery still cannot be installed or removed correctly:
please contact our support team with the photos/videos listed below so we can review the next step
If the issue clears
The issue may have been caused by mounting bolt tension or lock assembly alignment.
If the issue remains
Contact support.
When To Contact Support

the battery still cannot be removed
the battery still cannot be installed correctly
the e-lock still does not function
the battery appears swollen, damaged, overheated, or unsafe
