This article explains how to troubleshoot the E49 “The Charger Does Not Match” error on Aventon mid-drive bikes.

Use this article if your bike:

Before You Start

Please prepare the following:

  • whether the bike powers on
  • whether the battery charges
  • whether the charger powers on normally
  • whether the issue happened after charging, transport, storage, water exposure, crash, impact, modification, or third-party repair

E49 indicates the bike does not recognize the connected charger or detects a charging system fault.

The issue may be caused by:

Troubleshooting Steps
