Aventon Sinch.2 – Reprogramming ProcedureUpdated 15 hours ago

This article explains the Sinch.2 controller reprogramming process.

Use this article if:

  • your Aventon Sinch.2 requires controller reprogramming

  • support has provided the programming tool

  • the controller software update needs to be completed

Stop and contact support if you are unsure or if anything looks unsafe.

Before You Start

Prepare:

  • order number

  • Aventon Sinch.2 model confirmation

  • photo/video of the issue

  • the supplied programming tool

  • photo of the bike serial number

  • photo of the QR code or serial number on the underside of the downtube

  • confirmation of whether the bike powers on

  • photos of visible damage, if any

Safety warnings:

  • Do not continue if there is visible damage, overheating, smoke, or burning smell.

  • Do not open sealed electrical components.

  • Do not force connectors.

  • Stop and contact support if you are unsure.

What This Procedure Does

This process updates the controller programming on the Aventon Sinch.2 using the supplied programming tool.

Possible Causes

  • controller requires reprogramming

  • controller software update required

Troubleshooting Steps

Step 1 – Connect the Programmer

Connect the prepared programmer to the main display cable.

This is the green 5-pin connector located just outside the display.

If yes

Continue to Step 2.

If no

Do not force the connector. Contact support.


Step 2 – Start Programming

When the programmer lights up, turn the switch on.

The programmer indicator should start blinking yellow.

If yes

Continue to Step 3.

If no

Contact support.


Step 3 – Wait for Programming to Complete

Wait for the flashing process to finish.

The process is complete when the programmer indicator stops blinking and returns to normal.

If the yellow light stops blinking within 1 minute

Continue to Step 4.

If the yellow light does not stop blinking within 1 minute

The reprogramming process has failed.

Turn the unit off and try the process again.

If the issue remains

Please contact our support team with the photos/videos listed below so we can review the next step.


Step 4 – Disconnect the Programmer

Once the flashing process is complete:

  1. Turn off the switch.

  2. Disconnect the programmer from the main cable.

If yes

Continue to Step 5.

If no

Contact support.


Step 5 – Repeat if Required

Repeat these steps for each Sinch.2 that requires the software update.

If the issue clears

The reprogramming process is complete.

If the issue remains

Please contact our support team with the photos/videos listed below so we can review the next step.

When To Contact Support

Contact support if:

  • the programmer light does not stop blinking within 1 minute

  • the process fails after retrying

  • the connector does not fit easily

  • the bike does not power on after programming

  • there is visible damage

  • the bike has been exposed to water, crash, impact, transport damage, modification, or third-party repair

  • you are unsure how to safely complete a step

Important Safety Notes

  • Do not ride the bike if the issue remains.

  • Do not force connectors.

  • Do not open the battery, controller, display, or sealed electrical components.

  • Do not work on wiring while the bike is powered on or charging.

  • Contact support if unsure.
