This article explains how to troubleshoot common TFT and KAABO central display drive system issues on the Kaabo Mantis King GT.
Use this article if your scooter:
- Does not cut motor power when braking
- Continues accelerating while braking
- Has one motor not working in dual-drive mode
- Powers on but will not accelerate
- Has motors that do not spin
- Has reduced acceleration in certain modes
- Only accelerates correctly in ECO mode
- Has poor battery range
Before You Start
Please prepare the following:
- Your order number
- A photo or video of the issue
- A photo of the display
- A video showing the issue while riding or testing
- A photo/video of any error codes
- Confirmation whether:
- the scooter powers on
- the motors engage
- the issue affects single-drive or dual-drive mode
- braking cuts motor power correctly
- Details about whether the issue started after:
- rain or water exposure
- impact or crash
- transport
- modification
- display replacement
- third-party repair
If there is visible damage, please also prepare clear photos.
Safety Warnings
- Do not continue riding if the scooter accelerates unexpectedly or braking does not cut motor power.
- Do not continue riding if there is motor resistance, overheating, smoke, burning smell, or visible wiring damage.
- Do not work on wiring while the scooter is powered on unless specifically required for testing.
- Do not force connectors together.
- Stop and contact support if unsure.
Brake Does Not Cut Motor Power
This issue applies if the scooter continues driving when the brake lever is pressed.
This may be caused by:
- Brake lever sensor faults
- Loose wiring
- Main line wiring faults
Step 1 – Check for the Brake Indicator
Lift the scooter safely so the wheels are off the ground.
Turn the display on and press the left brake lever.
Check whether the display shows an exclamation mark or brake indicator.
If no brake indicator appears
Open the battery compartment cover and inspect the white wire on the SM9 connector between the multifunction switch and controller A.
Check for:
- Loose wiring
- Improperly connected wiring
- Unplugged connectors
If loose or disconnected wiring is found
Reconnect the wiring securely and test again.
If the wiring appears normal
The left brake lever may require further inspection.

Step 2 – Check the Right Brake Lever
Lift the scooter safely so the wheels are off the ground.
Turn the display on and press the right brake lever.
Check whether the display shows an exclamation mark or brake indicator.
If no brake indicator appears
Open the battery compartment cover and inspect the white wire on the SM9 connector between the display and controller A.
Check for:
- Loose wiring
- Improperly connected wiring
- Unplugged connectors
If loose or disconnected wiring is found
Reconnect the wiring securely and test again.
If the wiring appears normal
The right brake lever may require further inspection.

Step 3 – Main Line Inspection Required
If the issue still remains after the wiring checks, the multifunction switch main line or display main line may require further inspection.

Rear Motor Brakes Correctly but Front Motor Continues Accelerating
This issue applies if:
- The rear motor electronically brakes correctly
- The front motor continues accelerating while braking
Step 1 – Check for Loose Wiring
Inspect all accessible motor and controller wiring for:
- Loose waterproof connectors
- Bent copper pins
- Damaged wiring
If wiring issues are found
Reconnect the wiring securely and test again.
If no wiring issues are found
Further inspection of controller B may be required.

Front Motor Brakes Correctly but Rear Motor Continues Accelerating
This issue applies if:
- The front motor electronically brakes correctly
- The rear motor continues accelerating while braking
Step 1 – Check for Loose Wiring
Inspect all accessible motor and controller wiring for:
- Loose waterproof connectors
- Bent copper pins
- Damaged wiring
If wiring issues are found
Reconnect the wiring securely and test again.
If no wiring issues are found
Further inspection of controller A may be required.

Rear Motor Works but Front Motor Does Not Spin and Has Resistance
This issue applies in dual-drive mode.
Step 1 – Check for Front Motor Resistance
Open the battery compartment cover and disconnect the yellow, green, and blue phase wires between the front motor and controller B.
Important Safety Note
Do not allow the disconnected phase wire terminals to touch each other.
Manually rotate the front motor.
If the motor still has resistance
The front motor may require further inspection.

If the resistance disappears
Controller B may require further inspection.

Front Motor Works but Rear Motor Does Not Spin and Has Resistance
This issue applies in dual-drive mode.
Step 1 – Check for Rear Motor Resistance
Open the battery compartment cover and disconnect the yellow, green, and blue phase wires between the rear motor and controller A.
Important Safety Note
Do not allow the disconnected phase wire terminals to touch each other.
Manually rotate the rear motor.
If the motor still has resistance
The rear motor may require further inspection.

Scooter Powers On but Motors Do Not Accelerate
This issue applies if:
- The display powers on
- The motors do not spin when accelerating
Step 1 – Check for Error Codes
Check whether the display shows an error code.
If an error code is displayed
Troubleshoot the scooter based on the displayed error code first.
Then inspect all waterproof connectors for:
- Loose connections
- Bent copper pins
If bent pins or loose wiring are found
Reconnect the wiring carefully and test again.
If no visible wiring issues are found
Continue to Step 2.
Step 2 – Check the Throttle Signal
Further electrical testing may be required.
A voltage test between the green and black wires of the XHB8 connector may be required while operating the throttle.
If you are not comfortable performing voltage tests
Stop troubleshooting and contact support.

- Any error codes shown on the display
Step 3 – Controller Voltage Check
Further testing of the SM2 connector voltage output may be required.
This step requires electrical testing equipment and technical experience.

Rear Wheel Spins but Front Wheel Does Not Spin
This issue applies in dual-drive mode.
Step 1 – Check for Error Codes
If an error code appears on the display:
- Troubleshoot the error code first
- Inspect all waterproof connectors for bent pins or loose wiring
If wiring damage is found
Reconnect the wiring securely and test again.
If the wiring appears normal
Continue to Step 2.
Step 2 – Check for Motor Resistance
Manually rotate the front motor and check for resistance.
If there is motor resistance
Do not continue riding.
Further inspection is required.

Continue to Step 3.
Step 3 – Test the Front Motor Connection
Further controller and motor testing may be required by swapping the front motor connection to controller A.
This step requires technical electrical inspection.

Battery Runs Flat Quickly / Poor Riding Range
This issue applies if:
- The battery reaches full charge unusually quickly
- The scooter loses power after a short distance
Step 1 – Check the Charger
Confirm the charger is operating normally before continuing.
If the charger is faulty
Resolve the charger issue first.
If the charger operates normally
Further battery inspection may be required.

Scooter Only Accelerates Properly in ECO Mode
This issue applies if:
- ECO mode works normally
- Other speed modes slow down or lose acceleration
- Restarting the scooter temporarily fixes the issue
Step 1 – Determine Whether the Issue Happens in Single or Dual Drive
If the issue happens in single-drive mode
Further inspection of controller A may be required.
Please contact support with:
- A video showing the issue
- Details about which drive mode is affected
If the issue happens in dual-drive mode
Continue to Step 2.
Step 2 – Controller Isolation Test
The troubleshooting process may require disconnecting:
- The 7-pin waterproof connector between controller A and controller B
- The battery connection to controller B
This is an advanced electrical inspection step.
Please contact support before continuing.
Provide:
- A video showing the issue
- Photos of the controller wiring
- Confirmation whether the issue returns after restarting
Step 3 – Display Settings Check
If ECO mode works correctly but other modes do not accelerate properly even after restarting, the current or speed settings for the display modes may have been changed.

- Photos of all gear mode settings on the display
- A video showing the issue
- Details about any recent display setting changes

- The scooter accelerates unexpectedly
