ERROR-05 – Undervoltage Fault
What This Error Means
ERROR-05 indicates the scooter voltage has dropped below the protection threshold.
Possible causes include:
- Low battery charge
- Battery fault
- Incorrect P08 voltage setting
Step 1 – Check battery charge level
Confirm whether the scooter battery is sufficiently charged.
If the battery is low
Fully charge the scooter and test it again.
If the battery charges unusually quickly or drains very quickly during riding
The battery may be faulty.
Please contact support regarding battery replacement.
If battery behaviour appears normal
Check the display voltage settings.
Step 2 – Check the P08 voltage setting
- Power on and unlock the display.
- Long press the M button and Power button together.
- Enter password:
1500 - Open the P settings menu.
- Locate parameter P08.
Correct voltage setting for Kaabo Urban
The Kaabo Urban is a:
- 48V scooter
P08 must be set to:
- 48V
If P08 is incorrectly set to 60V or 72V
Correct the setting back to 48V and test the scooter again.
If the issue remains after correcting the setting
Please contact support.
ERROR-02 – Hall Sensor Fault
What This Error Means
ERROR-02 indicates a Hall sensor communication issue between the motor and controller.
Possible causes include:
- Loose Hall sensor connector
- Bent or oxidised connector pins
- Motor Hall sensor fault
- Controller fault
Step 1 – Inspect the Hall sensor connector
- Remove the battery compartment cover.
- Locate the Hall sensor connector between the motor and controller.
- Check for:
- loose connectors
- bent pins
- oxidation
- contamination
If loose wiring is found
Reconnect the connector securely.
If bent pins are found
Carefully straighten the pins or replace the connector.
If contamination or oxidation is found
Clean the connector using electrical contact cleaner.
If the issue remains after reconnecting the connector
Test the motor Hall sensors.
Step 2 – Test the motor Hall sensors
Using a multimeter:
Measurement 1
- Set the multimeter to Diode Test mode.
- Connect the red probe to the red Hall wire.
- Measure the yellow, green, and blue wires individually.
Expected reading:
- approximately 1.764
Measurement 2
- Connect the red probe to the black Hall wire.
- Measure the yellow, green, and blue wires individually.
Expected reading:
- approximately 0.5727
If all readings are consistent
The Hall sensors are functioning normally.
The controller may require replacement.
If one or more readings differ significantly
The motor Hall sensors may be faulty.
Please contact support regarding motor replacement.
ERROR-06 – Controller Fault
What This Error Means
ERROR-06 indicates a controller communication or controller connection fault.
Possible causes include:
- Loose controller connectors
- Damaged controller wiring
- Oxidised terminals
- Controller fault
Step 1 – Inspect controller wiring connections
- Remove the battery compartment cover.
- Inspect:
- controller-to-display connectors
- controller-to-motor connectors
- battery output wires
- battery terminals
- Check for:
- loose connectors
- damaged wires
- detached terminals
- discoloration
- oxidation
If loose connectors are found
Reconnect them securely.
If wires or terminals are damaged
Professional repair or component replacement is recommended.
If all wiring appears normal but the error remains
The controller may require replacement.
Please contact support.
ERROR-01 – Phase Loss Fault
What This Error Means
ERROR-01 indicates a motor phase wire fault.
Possible causes include:
- Loose phase wire terminals
- Damaged motor wiring
- Controller fault
- Motor fault
Step 1 – Inspect motor phase wires
- Remove the battery compartment cover.
- Inspect the motor phase wire terminals between the motor and controller.
- Check for:
- loose connectors
- partially disconnected terminals
- damaged wiring
- oxidation
If loose terminals are found
Reconnect and secure them.
If damaged wiring or oxidised terminals are found
Professional repair or component replacement is recommended.
If the wiring appears normal but the error remains
The controller may require replacement.
If the issue still remains after controller replacement
The motor may require replacement.
Please contact support.
ERROR-08 – Controller Over-Temperature Protection
What This Error Means
ERROR-08 indicates the controller overheating protection system has activated.
Possible causes include:
- Aggressive riding
- Heavy controller load
- Loose motor phase wires
- Poor electrical contact
Step 1 – Allow the controller to cool down
- Turn the scooter off.
- Leave the scooter powered off for approximately 30–40 minutes.
If the error clears after cooling down
The issue was likely caused by controller overheating during riding.
Avoid prolonged aggressive riding or excessive load conditions.
