This article explains how to troubleshoot charging issues on the Kaabo Wolf King GTR.

Use this article if your scooter:

  • Will not charge

  • Will not activate

  • Shows a green charger light but does not appear to charge

  • Has a charger light that flashes red and green

  • Only charges while the motor is spinning freely

Before You Start

Please prepare:

  • Your order number

  • A photo or video of the charging issue

  • A photo of the display

  • A video of the charger light behaviour

  • Whether the scooter powers on

  • Whether the battery charges

  • Whether the motor engages

  • Whether the issue happened after riding, charging, storage, transport, crash, impact, rain, water exposure, modification, display replacement, added electronics, or third-party repair

  • Photos of any visible damage

Safety reminders:

  • Do not continue riding if the scooter shows a serious fault, motor resistance, visible wiring damage, smoke, burning smell, or water exposure.

  • Do not work on wiring while the scooter is powered on or charging.

  • Do not open sealed battery components.

  • Do not force connectors together.

  • Stop and contact support if unsure.

Scooter Will Not Charge

This may be caused by the battery already being full, an incorrect display voltage setting, the charging sequence, the charger, or the battery.

Possible causes:

  • The battery may already be fully charged.

  • The display voltage setting may be incorrect.

  • The scooter may not have been connected to the charger in the correct order.

  • The charger may not be working correctly.

  • The battery may require further inspection.

Step 1 – Check the display voltage setting

Turn the scooter on and check the display voltage setting.

The correct voltage setting for the Kaabo Wolf King GTR is 72V.

If the display is set to 72V

Continue to Step 2.

If the display is not set to 72V

Change the setting to 72V, then check the battery level again.

If the issue is resolved

The scooter may have already been charged, but the display was showing the wrong battery level due to the incorrect voltage setting. Monitor the scooter during the next few rides.

If the issue remains

Continue to Step 2.

Scooter Will Not Activate or Start Charging

This may be caused by the battery needing activation or the charging sequence not being completed correctly.

Step 1 – Check whether the battery can be activated

Remove the battery if you can do this safely.

Press the button near the battery’s bottom battery level display.

If the battery activates

Reconnect the battery and continue to Step 2.

If the battery does not activate

Continue to Step 2.

Step 2 – Connect the charger in the correct order

Connect the charger to the battery discharge port first.

Then connect the charger to the power outlet.

Wait around 5 seconds after connecting the charger to power.

If the scooter starts charging or activates

The issue may have been caused by the charging sequence. Continue to monitor the scooter.

If the scooter still does not charge or activate

Continue to the charger light checks below.

Charger Light Does Not Turn On

This may be caused by the charger.

Step 1 – Test the charger light

Plug the charger into a working power outlet without connecting it to the scooter.

Check whether the charger indicator light turns on.

If the charger light turns on

Continue to the next relevant section.

If the charger light does not turn on

The charger may not be working correctly. Contact support with a video showing the charger plugged into the power outlet and the indicator light not turning on.

Charger Shows Green But Scooter Does Not Charge

This may be caused by the charger output or the battery.

Step 1 – Confirm the charger light behaviour

Connect the charger to the scooter and then connect it to power.

Check whether the charger light stays green.

If the charger light stays green

This next step requires further electrical testing of the charger output. Please contact support with a video showing the charger connected to the scooter and the green charger light.

If the charger light changes from green to red

The scooter may be charging. Allow it to charge and monitor the display.

If the issue remains

Contact support with the photos/videos listed below.

Charger Light Flashes Red and Green

This may be caused by the charger, controller, or battery.

Step 1 – Disconnect the charger from the scooter

Unplug the charger from the scooter while leaving the charger connected to the power outlet.

Check the charger light.

If the charger light still flashes red and green

The charger may not be working correctly. Contact support with a video showing the charger flashing while it is not connected to the scooter.

If the charger light stops flashing

Continue to Step 2.

Step 2 – Check for motor resistance

With the scooter turned off, carefully try to rotate the front and rear motors by hand.

Do not ride the scooter during this check.

If either motor has strong resistance

Do not continue riding.

This next step requires further inspection of the controller and motor wiring. Please contact support with a video showing the motor resistance.

If both motors rotate normally

Continue to Step 3.

Step 3 – Reconnect the charger and check again

Connect the charger to the scooter again and check whether the charger light still flashes red and green.

If the flashing stops

Monitor the scooter during charging.

If the charger still flashes red and green

This next step requires further inspection of the charger, battery, and internal electrical components. Please contact support with the photos/videos listed below.

Scooter Only Charges While the Motor Is Spinning Freely

This may be caused by the battery or charger.

Step 1 – Check the charger light while connected

Connect the charger to the scooter.

Check whether the charger light stays green.

If the charger stays green

With the scooter safely lifted so the wheel can spin freely, carefully start the motor with no load.

If the charger light turns red while the motor is spinning freely

The battery may require further inspection. Contact support with a video showing the charger light changing while the motor spins freely.

If the charger light stays green while the motor is spinning freely
