Kaabo Wolf King GTR – Lighting System TroubleshootingUpdated 15 hours ago

This article explains how to troubleshoot lighting system issues on the Kaabo Wolf King GTR.

Use this article if your scooter has issues with:

  • Headlights

  • Brake lights

  • Tail light

  • Turn signals

  • Side light bars

  • Front spotlights

  • Horn

  • Lights turning on when the display is off

Before You Start

Please prepare:

  • Your order number

  • A photo or video of the issue

  • A photo of the display

  • A video showing the light, brake, horn, or turn signal behaviour

  • Whether the scooter powers on

  • Whether the issue happened after riding, transport, impact, water exposure, modification, display replacement, added electronics, or third-party repair

  • Photos of any visible damage

Safety reminders:

  • Do not continue riding if the scooter has visible wiring damage, smoke, burning smell, water exposure, or a persistent lighting fault.

  • Do not work on wiring while the scooter is powered on or connected to the charger.

  • Do not force connectors together.

  • Stop and contact support if unsure.

Lights Turn On While the Display Is Off

This may be caused by the display or collector box.

Step 1 – Check the display connection

Turn the scooter off. If safely accessible, disconnect the display 6-pin waterproof plug from the main cable connection.

Turn the light switch on.

If the lights no longer turn on

The issue may be with the display.

Contact support with a video showing the test.

If the lights still turn on

The issue may be with the collector box.

This next step requires further inspection. Please contact support with the photos/videos listed below.

Display Is On, But Lights and Horn Do Not Work

This may be caused by a loose connection, fuse issue, or collector box issue.

Step 1 – Check whether both lights and horn are affected

Turn the scooter on and test:

  • Headlight

  • Other lights

  • Horn

If both lights and horn do not work

This next step requires further inspection of the collector box, controller connection, and 5A fuse. Please contact support with a video of the fault.

If only one light or the horn is affected

Continue to the matching section below.

One Brake Lever Activates the Brake Light, But the Other Does Not

This may be caused by a loose brake signal connection or a brake lever sensor issue.

Step 1 – Test both brake levers

Turn the display on.

Press the left brake lever, then the right brake lever.

If the right brake activates the brake light but the left brake does not

The issue may involve the left brake lever sensor or related wiring.

Contact support with a video showing both brake lever tests.

If the left brake activates the brake light but the right brake does not

The issue may involve the right brake lever sensor or related wiring.

Contact support with a video showing both brake lever tests.

Brake Light Stays On When Brakes Are Not Pressed

This may be caused by a brake lever sensor staying active.

Step 1 – Confirm the issue

Turn the scooter on and do not press either brake lever.

If the brake light turns off normally

The issue is not currently present. Monitor the scooter.

If the brake light stays on

Do not continue riding.

This next step requires further inspection of the brake lever sensor connections. Please contact support with a video showing the brake light staying on without either brake being pressed.

Left Side Light Bar Does Not Turn On

This may be caused by the left light bar connection, left light bar, or LED adaptor cable.

Step 1 – Check the left light bar behaviour

Turn the scooter on and confirm whether the rest of the lighting system works.

If the rest of the lights work but the left light bar does not

This next step requires further inspection of the left light bar connection and LED adaptor cable. Please contact support with a video of the issue.

If other lights are also not working

Go to Display Is On, But Lights and Horn Do Not Work.

Right Side Light Bar Does Not Turn On

This may be caused by the right light bar connection, right light bar, or LED adaptor cable.

Step 1 – Check the right light bar behaviour

Turn the scooter on and confirm whether the rest of the lighting system works.

If the rest of the lights work but the right light bar does not

This next step requires further inspection of the right light bar connection and LED adaptor cable. Please contact support with a video of the issue.

If other lights are also not working

Go to Display Is On, But Lights and Horn Do Not Work.

Tail Light Does Not Turn On

This may be caused by a tail light connection issue or tail light fault.

Step 1 – Check whether the rest of the lights work

Turn the scooter on and test the lighting system.

If the rest of the lights work but the tail light does not

This next step requires further inspection of the tail light connection. Please contact support with a video of the issue.

If other lights are also not working

Go to Display Is On, But Lights and Horn Do Not Work.

Headlight Does Not Turn On

This may be caused by the headlight connection, headlight, or collector box.

Step 1 – Check whether the rest of the lights work

Turn the scooter on and test the lighting system.

If the rest of the lights work but the headlight does not

This next step requires further inspection of the headlight connection and collector box. Please contact support with a video of the issue.

If other lights are also not working

Go to Display Is On, But Lights and Horn Do Not Work.

Horn Does Not Sound

This may be caused by the horn connection, horn, collector box, or multifunction switch.

Step 1 – Check whether the lights work

Turn the scooter on and test the lights and horn.

If the lights work but the horn does not sound

This next step requires further inspection of the horn connection, collector box, horn, and multifunction switch. Please contact support with a video showing the horn button being pressed.

If the lights and horn both do not work

Go to Display Is On, But Lights and Horn Do Not Work.

Left Front Spotlight Does Not Turn On

This may be caused by the left front spotlight connection or the left spotlight.

Step 1 – Check whether the rest of the lights work

Turn the scooter on and test the lighting system.

If the rest of the lights work but the left front spotlight does not

This next step requires further inspection of the left front spotlight connection. Please contact support with a video of the issue.

Right Front Spotlight Does Not Turn On

This may be caused by the right front spotlight connection or the right spotlight.

Step 1 – Check whether the rest of the lights work

Turn the scooter on and test the lighting system.

If the rest of the lights work but the right front spotlight does not

This next step requires further inspection of the right front spotlight connection. Please contact support with a video of the issue.

Left Front Turn Signal Does Not Flash

This may be caused by the left front spotlight/indicator connection or the left spotlight assembly.

Step 1 – Test the left front turn signal

Turn the scooter on and activate the left turn signal.

If the left front turn signal does not flash

This next step requires further inspection of the left front spotlight/indicator connection. Please contact support with a video of the issue.

Right Front Turn Signal Does Not Flash

This may be caused by the right front spotlight/indicator connection or the right spotlight assembly.

Step 1 – Test the right front turn signal

Turn the scooter on and activate the right turn signal.

If the right front turn signal does not flash

This next step requires further inspection of the right front spotlight/indicator connection. Please contact support with a video of the issue.

Left Rear Turn Signal Does Not Flash

This may be caused by the tail light assembly.

Step 1 – Test the left rear turn signal

Turn the scooter on and activate the left turn signal.

If the left rear turn signal does not flash

Contact support with a video showing the rear indicator issue.

Right Rear Turn Signal Does Not Flash

This may be caused by the tail light assembly.

Step 1 – Test the right rear turn signal

Turn the scooter on and activate the right turn signal.

If the right rear turn signal does not flash

Contact support with a video showing the rear indicator issue.

Left Stem Turn Signal Does Not Flash

This may be caused by a connection issue or the left stem turn signal.

Step 1 – Test the left stem turn signal

Turn the scooter on and activate the left turn signal.

If the left stem turn signal does not flash

This next step requires further inspection of the stem turn signal connection. Please contact support with a video of the issue.

Right Stem Turn Signal Does Not Flash

This may be caused by a connection issue or the right stem turn signal.

Step 1 – Test the right stem turn signal

Turn the scooter on and activate the right turn signal.

If the right stem turn signal does not flash

This next step requires further inspection of the stem turn signal connection. Please contact support with a video of the issue.

When To Contact Support

Contact support if:

  • The issue remains after the basic checks

  • You are unsure how to complete a step

  • The scooter has visible damage

  • The scooter was exposed to water

  • The issue started after a crash, impact, modification, display replacement, added electronics, or third-party repair

  • The fault may involve the display, collector box, brake lever sensor, horn, headlight, tail light, light bar, spotlight, turn signal, fuse, controller connection, or internal wiring

  • The scooter is unsafe to ride

What To Send Support

Please send:

  • Your order number

  • A photo or video of the issue

  • A photo of the display

  • A video showing the affected light, horn, brake light, or turn signal

  • Photos of any visible damage

  • Confirmation of any water exposure, crash, impact, modification, display replacement, added electronics, or third-party repair

  • The troubleshooting steps you have already completed

Important Safety Notes

  • Do not continue riding with unresolved lighting, brake light, or horn faults.

  • Do not ride with visible wiring damage, burning smell, smoke, or water exposure.

  • Do not work on wiring while the scooter is powered on or charging.

  • Do not open sealed battery components.

  • Do not force connectors together.

  • Stop and contact support if unsure.
