Handlebar Functions
Power Button / Headlight
- Press once to power on
- Press and hold for 2 seconds to power off
- Press once after power-on to turn the headlight on or off
- Double press to switch speed modes
Direction Indicator Buttons
- Press left or right button to activate the turn signal
- Press again to turn it off
- Press and hold either left or right indicator button for 2 seconds to turn emergency flashers on or off
Throttle
- Twist or press the throttle to accelerate
Bell
- Press the bell button to use the bell
Rear Light Behaviour
- When the headlight is off, the taillight is off and lights during braking
- When the headlight is on, the taillight stays dimly lit and becomes brighter during braking
Dashboard
The dashboard displays:
- Current speed
- Left and right turn signal indicators
- Headlight indicator
- Tire pressure reminder
- Bluetooth connection
- Locking reminder
- TCS indicator
- Warning indicator
- Main battery level
- External battery level, if an external battery is installed separately
Dashboard Notes
- The warning icon indicates the scooter has detected errors
- The lock icon means the scooter is locked
- The Bluetooth icon means the scooter is connected to a mobile device
- The TCS icon means traction control is enabled
- In Walk Mode, the headlight and taillight stay on and cannot be turned off
Speed Modes
E3 / E3 Pro Modes
- ECO Mode: 15 km/h
- Drive Mode: 20 km/h
- Sport Mode:
- Some E3 versions: 25 km/h
- Some E3 versions: 20 km/h
- Some E3 Pro versions: 25 km/h
- Some E3 Pro versions: 20 km/h
- Walk Mode: 5 km/h
Speed limits vary by specific model number:
- E3: 051901E / 051901D
- E3 Pro: 051902E / 051902D
Assembly
Before Assembly
- Assembly is for adults only
- Power off the scooter before assembly
- The brake cable should not wrap around the stem
Assembly Steps
- Remove the foam lining and take the scooter out of the box
- Untie the Velcro, remove the foam lining, and unfold the kickstand
- Lift the stem and unfold the vehicle until it clicks into place, then close the folding latch
- Connect the purple connectors in the stem and handlebar, with arrows facing each other
- Slide the handlebar and wires into the stem with the headlight facing forward
- Install the four screws in order using the 4 mm Allen wrench
- Make sure the folding mechanism is unfolded properly and the folding latch is fully closed before riding
Activation
The scooter must be activated through the Segway Mobility App.
Important Activation Notes
- A non-activated scooter will keep beeping when turned on
- Speed is limited to 15 km/h until activation
- When activated, the scooter defaults to Drive Mode
Activation Steps
- Scan the QR code and download the Segway Mobility App
- Register or log in
- Charge the scooter for 3 seconds to activate the battery
- Power on the scooter
- In the app, tap Search Vehicle and pair the scooter
- Follow the instructions, watch the riding safety video, and activate the scooter
Charging
Charging Steps
- Open the charging port rubber plug
- Insert the charge plug
- After charging, close the rubber plug securely
Charger Light
- Red: charging
- Green: trickle charge / charged
Charging Rules
- Do not charge if the charging port, charger, or power cord is wet
- Only use the original charger
- Do not charge or use the battery if it is damaged or shows traces of water
- Close the charging port cover when not charging
- Unplug the charger when not in use
- Do not leave the scooter unattended while charging
Battery Sleep Mode
- If battery is under 30% and the scooter is not powered on for about 7 consecutive days, the battery may enter sleep mode
- If this happens, charge it for 3 seconds to reactivate the battery
App Features
The Segway Mobility App can be used to customise:
- Start speed
- Traction Control System (TCS)
- Energy Recovery
- Imperial / Metric system
- Light effects
- Custom mode speed
- Locking function
Energy Recovery
- Can be set to Off, Strong, or Weak
- When enabled, releasing the throttle can create noticeable deceleration
- It supports braking but does not replace the brake system
- It is especially important to use caution downhill
- The dashboard does not show Energy Recovery status; it must be checked in the app
Locking Features
CodeLock
- Can be enabled or disabled in the Segway Mobility App
- Digital CodeLock uses a 4-digit password
- Password entry is performed using the power button, throttle, and brake lever sequence described in the manual
AirLock
- Can be enabled or disabled in the app
- Requires Bluetooth on the mobile phone
- When the phone is close to the scooter, Bluetooth can connect automatically
- If AirLock unlocking fails, the rider can retry with the power button or use the digital password method
Abnormal Movement Alert
- Can be enabled or disabled in the app
- If abnormal movement is detected while powered off, the buzzer sounds and the driving wheel locks
- Lights may flash along with the alert
Apple Find My
For supported Apple users, the scooter can be added to Apple Find My.
Features include:
- Add vehicle through the Segway Mobility App or directly through Find My
- Reset Find My pairing
- Enable or disable Find My beacon
- Look up the scooter serial number in special conditions
- Maximum of 3 connected iOS devices on the same account
Firmware Updates
- The owner can update firmware after connecting the scooter to the Segway Mobility App
- Non-owners are not allowed to update the firmware
How to Ride
Starting
- Fold up the kickstand
- Stand with one foot on the footboard
- Push off with the other foot to begin gliding
- Place both feet on the footboard and stand stably
- Press the throttle to accelerate
Important Start Note
- The motor will not engage until the scooter reaches 3 km/h
- Start speed can be adjusted through the app
Braking
- Slow down by releasing the throttle and squeezing the brake lever
- Braking distance may vary depending on rider weight and conditions
Steering
- Press left or right direction indicator button to activate turn signals
- Turn the handlebar slightly to steer left or right
Parking
- Put down the kickstand when getting off the scooter
- Store the scooter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures
- Parking on hardwood floors may cause stains or damage
Folding, Carrying, and Unfolding
Folding
- Lift the snap hook
- Press the latch button in the folding mechanism
- Press the folding latch with slight force
- Hook the snap hook to the buckle at the rear of the footboard
Carrying
- Lift by the stem to carry
Unfolding
- Disengage the snap hook from the buckle
- Lift the stem and push it forward until it clicks
- Close the folding latch
Important Safety Note
- Make sure the folding latch is locked before riding
- Stop riding immediately if it cannot be locked properly
Tire Inflation
- Unscrew the valve cap
- Connect the air pump to the valve stem
- Inflate before riding
- Recommended tyre pressure: 42–48 psi
Tire Warning
- Riding with underinflated tyres can permanently damage the tyres
- It can reduce riding safety
- It can overwork and overheat the motor
- Tire pressure should be checked regularly
Safety Guidelines
- Always wear a helmet, elbow pads, and knee pads
- Do not carry passengers
- Do not overtake
- Do not ride with one hand or one foot
- Do not ride up or down stairs or jump obstacles
- Do not use a mobile phone or wear earphones while riding
- Do not ride in the rain
- Do not ride through puddles or obstacles
- Do not ride on public roads, motorways, or highways unless local laws allow it
- Do not touch the brake or hub motor after riding, as they may be hot
- Avoid potholes
- Do not carry heavy objects on the handlebar
- Control speed when riding downhill
- Keep speed around 5–10 km/h over speed bumps and uneven surfaces
- Do not keep feet on the rear mudguard
- Do not park outdoors for long periods
- Secure the scooter properly during transport to avoid battery damage
Riding Limits and General Use
- Recommended age: 14+
- Recommended height: 140–200 cm
- Maximum payload: 100 kg
- Maximum slope: about 18%
- Do not ride uphill on slopes steeper than 30°
- Suitable terrain: partial unpaved roads, mostly smooth roads, normal asphalt, and tarmac roads
Errors and Warnings
The dashboard includes a warning icon to indicate the scooter has detected errors, but this manual does not provide a detailed error code table in the sections reviewed. For Help Centre use, it is safer to state:
- If the warning icon appears, stop using the scooter and inspect the issue
- Check battery, tyre pressure, Bluetooth/app connection, and lock status
- If the issue remains, contact support
